Solution Architect - Infrastructure

Reporting to the Solution Design & Assurance Lead, the Solution Architect - Infrastructure is responsible for designing and assuring solutions for key technical domains such as network, desktop and server infrastructure, virtualisation, cloud, systems integration, security and other critical systems. This role involves creating and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure architectural designs that support the organisation's strategic and operational goals.

In this role you will develop comprehensive technical roadmaps, frameworks,
and solutions to ensure the effective integration and optimisation of systems, processes, and technologies across the organisation. This includes providing technical leadership and expertise to ensure alignment with industry best practices, regulatory standards, and business requirements.

Collaborating with cross-functional teams and key stakeholders, this role will drive innovation and operational excellence, ensuring that technical architectures are resilient, cost-effective, and adaptable to future needs.

Success in this role will be measured by the quality and effectiveness of the implemented technical architectures, the ability to influence technical strategy, and the role played in delivering high-impact solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS, CERTIFICATES & LICENCES
- Bachelor's or Post Graduate degree in relevant subject area (Information Technology or a related field).
- Virtualisation Certification - e.g. VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Citrix Certification
- Cloud Infrastructure Certification - e.g. Azure Certification Architecture Specific Qualifications
- TOGAF Practitioner.

EXPERIENCE
To be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
General
- 6 - 10 years of substantial general work experience together with comprehensive job-related experience enterprise IT environments and own area of expertise to fully competent level.
- Demonstrated experience as an Infrastructure or Solution Architect working on medium to large enterprise projects or programs.
- Demonstrated experience in preparing costed design of infrastructure solutions.
- Demonstrated experience with both written and verbal communication with technical and nontechnical audiences.
Technical
- Up to 10 years of experience in a related role.
- Demonstrated experience with the design of Information Technology infrastructure solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to work at both high level conceptual and detailed technical level depending on context and audience.
