Salary: $150,000 – $170,000 per year + extra leave
Role Overview
You will lead the end-to-end technology architecture for a high-profile, multi-year national science infrastructure programme. You will be dedicated 100% to a major new capability project, focusing on bridging complex enterprise software platforms with specialised technical facilities.
Core Technical Requirements
System Integration Architecture: You will design and implement complex integration patterns, connecting core Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) with enterprise-wide application layers.
Enterprise Platforms: Leverage your experience with Salesforce and M365 ecosystems to support customer platforms, workflows, and enterprise licensing arrangements.
Asset & Scientific Tracking: Design solutions to track and manage large inventories of specialised technical and lab equipment.
Infrastructure & Physical Site Design: Guide decisions on cabling, network topologies, local server room requirements, and robust wireless connectivity across a secure facility, ensuring scientists have seamless access.
Cloud & Hybrid Environments: Apply your background across hybrid cloud platforms (AWS / Azure) and modern software delivery lifecycles.
Public Sector Context: Navigate governance, InfoSec, privacy, and data security frameworks within New Zealand government environments.
Key Deliverables & Responsibilities
Structure and finalise the asset management architecture for specialised scientific inventory.
Confirm network topologies, physical server room specifications, and secure wireless coverage for operational staff.
You will architect secure integration pipelines connecting core laboratory applications to wider enterprise platforms.
About You
You'll bring a strong foundation in software, cloud, network, or infrastructure engineering, with experience delivering across large programmes. You will use your technical expertise to collaborate with SMEs, scientific teams, and external vendors while translating complex architectures into clear, plain language.
