YOUR ROLE

Based at Truganina VIC and reporting to the Solution Design Manager, the Solution Design Engineer sits within our Contract Logistics solution design and implementation team, developing innovative and increasingly automated warehouse solutions for new business opportunities and existing customers.

You’ll combine operational understanding, analytical capability and engineering principles to turn customer requirements into practical, commercially sound warehouse solutions. Working across business development, operations, implementation and functional teams, you’ll contribute from initial concept and tender development through to solution validation and implementation.

This is an intermediate-level solution design role offering the opportunity to build your technical expertise and progress towards Solution Design Specialist as your capability develops.

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Specifically, you will:

  • Design warehouse solutions, evaluating appropriate storage, material handling and automation technologies against customer and operational requirements
  • Undertake requirements analysis, manpower calculations, warehouse and infrastructure design, automation assessments and investment cases for medium to high-complexity opportunities
  • Develop key solution proposal deliverables and support presentations of proposed solutions to customers and internal stakeholders
  • Support the end-to-end bid process, including tender evaluation, pricing inputs, solution documentation and responses to RFI, RFP and RFQ requirements
  • Assess solution efficiency and financial impact through cost-benefit analysis, savings projections and identification of opportunities for further optimisation
  • Partner with Business Development, Key Account Management, Operations, Finance, WMS, implementation and other functional teams to validate and deliver practical solutions
  • Coach and support Solution Design Analysts in warehouse design, automation, cost modelling and proposal development
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of CEVA’s solution design methodologies, tools and best practices.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Our ideal candidate will have solid experience in solution design, warehouse operations or a closely related environment, underpinned by a tertiary qualification in engineering, logistics and supply chain management, or a related discipline. You will also have:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate operational requirements into practical solutions
  • Good technical capability, including an understanding of systems integration and troubleshooting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, along with relevant design or layout software
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the confidence to present to senior stakeholders and customers
  • A self-motivated approach, strong learning agility and the ability to work effectively across operational and functional teams
Bonus: experience or exposure to warehouse automation.

In addition to providing proof of work rights and suitable professional referees, progressed candidates will be required to undergo a medical assessment and national police check.
