Solutions Architect

Salary: £65,000 - 70,000 per year

• Were looking for significant experience designing infrastructure and cloud solutions in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) or Cloud Services Provider (CSP) environment.
• Were looking for a self-starter who can work independently, take ownership of solution design, and progress work without detailed instruction.

• We require experience owning end-to-end solution design rather than isolated components, along with strong awareness of operational and Day-2 considerations.
• Were looking for someone comfortable using AI-assisted tools and modern technologies to support solution design, documentation, and day-to-day work, and willing to help drive their effective adoption within the team.
• MSP experience is a strong advantage, including an understanding of platform-based delivery, SLAs, and supportability.
• We require proven experience producing High-Level Designs (HLDs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs).
• Were looking for someone comfortable leading technical workshops and customer discussions, and able to turn ambiguous or incomplete requirements into clear, structured designs.
• We value a pragmatic approach to balancing technical quality, commercial reality, and operational constraints.
• Desirable experience includes working with public sector or regulated customers; familiarity with security and compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 and GDPR; exposure to cloud, hybrid, or sovereign cloud platforms; and experience in environments focused on automation and platform standardisation.

• Lead customer design and onboarding workshops, coordinating with customers and internal teams to maintain progress throughout engagements.
• Gather and refine technical and business requirements, then translate them into clear architectural solutions.
• Produce high-quality HLDs, LLDs, and project artefacts, ensuring designs align with our service offerings and standards and are practical, supportable, and suitable for engineering delivery.
• Support our Sales colleagues in technical customer discussions, help shape solutions within commercial and service constraints, and contribute to proposals, solution descriptions, and technical responses.
• Ensure solutions proposed during presales can be delivered and supported effectively.
• Own designs through the transition from architecture into delivery by documenting assumptions, dependencies, and constraints; working with delivery teams to make designs understood and buildable; and providing implementation guidance.
• Help reduce late-stage redesign and escalation to support smooth, predictable delivery with minimal rework.
• Design solutions across our compute, storage, networking and connectivity, backup, archive, disaster recovery, security control, and managed security service areas.
• Work with our Lead Architect to align designs with wider architectural direction and evolving platform standards.

Were hiring an experienced Solution Architect for our architecture function to lead the design of complex managed infrastructure and cloud solutions. This senior, customer-facing role spans presales, onboarding, and delivery, with ownership of solution design from early customer engagement through delivery handover. Youll work closely with our Sales, architecture, delivery, and operations teams in a managed service environment, with a high degree of autonomy. Salary is £65,000–£70,000 per year. The role is hybrid remote in Blantyre.
