Solutions Architect (Azure)

Salary: ₱200,000 – ₱250,000 per month

About the role

The Solution Architect designs and oversees the implementation of in-house and commercial off-the-shelf IT solutions on Microsoft Azure, and their integration with other systems and applications. You will work with stakeholders, evaluate technology options and guide development teams to deliver scalable, secure and efficient solutions for an oil and gas business.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end solutions aligned to company standards, using Microsoft Azure services or a combination of SaaS solutions tailored to oil and gas.

• Use existing architecture patterns, or propose and develop new ones, to mature the enterprise architecture.

• Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into technical solutions.

• Develop and maintain architectural blueprints, solution designs and technical documentation.

• Lead integration of systems and applications, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability.

• Provide technical leadership to development teams across the project lifecycle, and mentor junior architects and engineers.

• Review and audit existing solutions regularly to find areas for improvement.

• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technology.

• Build and present proofs of concept to show the feasibility of proposed solutions.

• Monitor and manage cloud service costs.

• Develop and implement disaster recovery plans for business continuity.

Knowledge, skills and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 5+ years as a solution architect, ideally in oil and gas, plus 5+ years as a software engineer or similar.

• Skilled in designing cloud-native solutions across a wide Azure stack, including App Services,Functions, DevOps, Data Factory and Azure SQL Database.

• Proven experience applying the TOGAF framework to enterprise architecture. TOGAF certification highly preferred.

• Skilled in architecture styles, design patterns and software development best practice.

• Skilled in evaluating technology and product options and in trade-off analysis for architecture and design choices.

• Able to work through complex requirements, develop alternatives and present a recommendation to stakeholders at all levels.

• Skilled in designing and implementing security best practice and compliance requirements for oil and gas.

• Excellent problem solving and attention to detail, with strong communication and collaboration.

Preferred qualifications

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or similar.

• Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks.

• Experience with data integration, data warehousing and big data technologies.

• Experience with IoT solutions and edge computing.

• Experience with containerisation and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience with machine learning and advanced analytics.

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
