This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Solutions Architect - Data Visualization based in the United States.
This is a senior, client-facing architecture role focused on helping organizations turn complex data into trusted, actionable insights.
You’ll lead enterprise data visualization strategy, architecture, and delivery, with a strong emphasis on Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.
The role combines hands-on technical expertise with executive advisory work, discovery workshops, design reviews, and strategic consulting.
You’ll shape semantic models, reporting architectures, security frameworks, accessibility standards, and governed self-service analytics at scale.
You’ll also help organizations prepare their analytics environments for modern AI-assisted experiences and trustworthy reporting.
Working across business stakeholders, analysts, data engineers, technical teams, and leadership, you’ll guide solutions from strategy through implementation.

Accountabilities
- Serve as a lead subject matter expert in enterprise data visualization, reporting architecture, semantic modeling, human-centered design, and analytics adoption.
- Lead discovery workshops, analytics maturity assessments, roadmap engagements, and executive strategy sessions to define business needs, measurement priorities, and desired outcomes.
- Design enterprise reporting architectures covering semantic models, workspace and application structures, certification and endorsement models, reusable standards, and governed self-service capabilities.
- Architect and oversee Power BI implementations, including semantic models, Power Query transformations, DAX calculations, composite and Direct Lake models, and performance optimization for large-scale environments.
- Design security and access architectures, including row-level and object-level security, that support internal and external users while maintaining a manageable reporting environment.
- Guide integration between Power BI and broader data ecosystems, including Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Azure Data Services, and upstream data engineering initiatives.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to executives, business leaders, analysts, and technical stakeholders, translating business objectives into scalable analytics solutions.
- Lead design reviews and enablement initiatives that help clients sustain, extend, and govern solutions after project delivery.
- Establish enterprise reporting standards covering visual design, accessibility, templates, interaction patterns, documentation, and reusable design systems aligned with applicable accessibility standards.
- Define quality practices for analytics delivery, including semantic model reviews, performance testing, documentation, version control, and deployment pipelines.
- Develop reusable visualization accelerators, delivery assets, and AI-enabled delivery practices based on engagement experience.
- Advise clients on analytics readiness for Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI-assisted reporting, including semantic model quality, metadata, naming conventions, documentation, and governance.
- Diagnose root causes of unsuccessful reporting initiatives, such as unclear business requirements, unreliable data, ineffective design, or unsustainable architecture, and recommend practical solutions.
- Build strong relationships across client organizations while promoting long-term adoption, trust, and business value rather than focusing solely on delivering technical artifacts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Analytics, Information Design, Information Systems, Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience delivering enterprise analytics, business intelligence, or data visualization solutions, with substantial experience in Power BI.
- Hands-on experience implementing Power BI at enterprise scale, including dimensional modeling, semantic model design, Power Query, DAX, Tabular Editor, and performance tuning.
- Demonstrated experience designing enterprise reporting architectures, including security, workspace, governance, certification, and endorsement models.
- Strong experience leading customer-facing consulting engagements, executive workshops, design reviews, and strategic advisory initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Direct Lake semantic models.
- Practical understanding of human-centered design, information design, and accessibility principles as applied to enterprise reporting.
- Knowledge of data engineering and data governance architectures and their relationship to analytics and visualization solutions.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to explain technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the confidence to challenge requirements when a requested report or solution will not effectively address the underlying business need.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with sales, delivery, engineering, and leadership stakeholders.
- Willingness and ability to travel periodically to partner, customer, or other business locations as needed.
- Commitment to continuous learning across data visualization, analytics, AI, and cloud platforms.
- Strong ethical standards and disciplined adherence to data privacy, governance, compliance, and security requirements.
- Preferred experience includes custom Power BI visual development using Deneb, Vega-Lite, or similar frameworks.
- Familiarity with Azure Databricks, Azure Lakehouse architectures, Microsoft Purview, data cataloging, lineage, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Infrastructure as Code, and CI/CD practices is advantageous.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 Copilot analytics enablement, analytics centers of excellence, champion programs, or author communities is a plus.
- Experience working in regulated sectors such as healthcare, financial services, insurance, manufacturing, or the public sector is desirable.
- Estimated annual compensation of $160,000–$215,000, including base salary and bonus.
