Summary

Lead the transition to GenAI-enabled engineering by designing CI/CD pipelines, architecting toolchain solutions, and optimizing developer workflows across Azure cloud, co-location, and mainframe environments. This 6-month contract-to-hire role partners with engineering teams to embed AI capabilities into developer tooling and ensure scalable, standardized development practices.

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Solution Architect - Tools & Developer Experience position! This is a 6 month contract-to-hire and will be remote in the United States. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services.


What You'll Be Doing:

  • Guide the organization's transformation from traditional engineering to GenAI-enabled engineering, defining architecture patterns and practices that embed AI capabilities into developer workflows and tooling ecosystems
  • Design and optimize CI/CD pipelines and GenAI-enabled pipelines with integrated security scanning, compliance checks, and quality controls to streamline software delivery
  • Architect toolchain solutions and integration patterns, ensuring a standardized, efficient tooling ecosystem that enables consistent, scalable interaction between applications, services, and AI capabilities
  • Partner with engineering teams throughout the SDLC—from design through production—providing design oversight, guiding implementation decisions, and ensuring effective adoption of tools, pipelines, and development practices
  • Collaborate with domain leadership and enterprise architects to understand business capabilities and translate them into comprehensive solution designs that align with architecture standards and financial targets
  • Develop multi-platform runtime architecture strategies spanning cloud (Azure), co-location, and mainframe environments, ensuring seamless developer experience across heterogeneous platforms
  • Participate in governance activities and evaluate the quality and compliance of delivered solutions to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards
  • Research and identify potential impacts of emerging technologies and trends, continuously optimizing the developer experience based on feedback and evolving capabilities


What You'll Need to Have:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in solution architecture, software engineering, or related technical roles (or 9+ years combined higher education and work experience)
  • Proven experience with multiple programming languages and modern development platforms, including SDKs, APIs, and automation tooling
  • Strong understanding of software architecture principles, patterns, and integration strategies for building scalable applications and services
  • Demonstrated ability to work in Agile environments and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across varying levels of the organization
  • Solid track record of researching, evaluating, and articulating multiple approaches to solving complex technical problems
  • Experience designing engineering workflows and CI/CD pipelines with a focus on developer productivity and toolchain optimization
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and influence architectural decisions without direct authority


Pay Range: $65 - $80/hr
