About Our team:

Our Solution design teams deliver the art and science of analyzing the supply chain by finding ways to improve it. Solution design provide the experience and support to new and existing businesses, from logistics network strategy, transport design, warehouse design and simulation, to operational improvement and inventory analysis. Their knowledge to focus on and implement projects help keep DHL at the forefront of the Logistics market.

Responsibilities

- Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for solution design methodologies, tools, and sector-specific practices.
- Lead and/or support the Solution Design workstream for new business pursuits, renewals, and strategic customer opportunities.
- Develop warehousing solutions for new and existing business, including customer profile analysis, warehouse layout design, operational process flows, and facility engineering, infrastructure planning and equipment selection.
- Evaluate and recommend warehouse infrastructure solutions including storage systems, racking, HVAC, fire protection systems, utilities, material handling equipment and automation technologies.
- Conduct productivity analysis and resource planning to determine optimal staffing and operational requirements.
- Establish and validate cost models and commercial solutions for new business, renewals, and re-engineering initiatives.
- Provide analytical and solution design support for implementation, transformation, and strategic improvement projects.
- Collaborate closely with Operations teams to ensure successful implementation of solution designs and operational improvements.
- Partner with Business Development, Key Account Management, and sector teams to develop customer-focused solutions and support business growth opportunities.
- Prepare and present solution design recommendations and commercial proposals to internal stakeholders and customers as required.
- Review warehouse operating costs, profitability, and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
- Analyze Profit & Loss performance and recommend actions to improve operational efficiency and financial outcomes.
- Redesign warehouse layouts and operational processes to enhance productivity, service quality, and operational capability.
- Support continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives through process optimization and performance analysis.
- Maintain effective cross-functional communication and stakeholder engagement across the business.
- Identify and incorporate innovative solutions in facilities, automation, technology, transportation, and safety to enhance customer value and operational performance.

Requirements

  • 3 to 7 years of relevant experience in solution design and transport management
  • An advanced user of tools such as MS office
  • Understanding of warehouse, transport and supply chain knowledge
  • An advanced user of tools such as MS office
  • Practical experience in warehouse facility design, engineering, fit-out or implementation projects.
  • Experience in P&L managing, Automation in logistics preferred
  • Certificate related to Logistics/SCM preferred
  • Working knowledge of warehouse infrastructure including racking systems, HVAC, fire protection systems, utilities, material handling equipment and automation technologies.
  • Business level of proficency in Japanese is required
