Position Overview
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Solutions Designer – CRM (Salesforce) to design, develop, configure, integrate, and support complex Salesforce solutions. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, architects, and project managers throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
This role requires strong hands-on Salesforce development and configuration expertise, particularly within Public Sector Foundation and Sales Cloud, along with the ability to design scalable CRM solutions, troubleshoot complex issues, manage integrations, and support Agile delivery.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design hosting and CRM technology solutions based on client service specifications, standards, policies, best practices, and cost models.
  • Design, develop, configure, maintain, administer, and integrate complex Salesforce solutions.
  • Plan, implement, migrate, and support large and complex CRM systems.
  • Configure and integrate Salesforce with external applications using web services and other integration mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with IT professionals throughout the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Build Salesforce solutions based on user stories, low-level designs, and business requirements.
  • Conduct fit-gap analysis between business requirements and Salesforce capabilities.
  • Design and support prototypes and proof-of-concepts.
  • Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot defects, incidents, and production issues.
  • Manage User Stories, issues, bugs, and testing activities using JIRA and/or Azure DevOps.
  • Support Agile sprint management, bug tracking, and testing lifecycle management.
  • Document technical designs, processes, implementation activities, and maintain build books.
  • Report progress on deliverables and proactively identify risks and issues.
  • Provide effort estimates for proposed solutions and review estimates from team members.
  • Conduct diagnostics and determine appropriate approaches for incident management.
  • Support deployments and migrations across Development, Test, and Production environments.
  • Participate in design walkthroughs and implementation planning sessions.
  • Collaborate with project teams, Project Managers, architects, clients, and technical teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Provide post-implementation support and resolve technical issues.
  • Participate in knowledge transfer activities throughout the engagement.


Requirements

Mandatory Skills & Experience
Candidates must meet the following mandatory requirements:
  • 5+ years of Salesforce development experience, including Public Sector Foundation and Sales Cloud.
  • Strong understanding of when Salesforce configuration options should be used instead of custom code.
  • Hands-on experience solutioning and configuring Salesforce.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting, developing, maintaining, and configuring Salesforce solutions.
  • Experience troubleshooting Salesforce implementations and integrations in both Development and Production environments.
  • Experience configuring and integrating Salesforce with external applications using web services or other mechanisms.
  • Experience conducting root cause analysis and resolving defects and incidents.
  • Experience documenting technical designs, processes, implementation activities, and build books.
  • Experience conducting fit-gap analysis between high-level business requirements and Salesforce Public Sector capabilities.
  • Experience designing and supporting prototypes and Proofs of Concept.
  • Experience conducting diagnostics and supporting incident management.
  • Experience implementing AODA-compliant solutions.
  • Strong experience working with clients and technical teams to resolve defects and manage change requests.
  • Experience providing estimates for proposed features and enhancements.

  • Experience designing and developing large, complex CRM applications.
  • Knowledge of CRM applications, operating systems, environments, databases, programming languages, and communication protocols.

  • Knowledge of middleware and gateways.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture methodologies, design standards, and tools.
  • Experience assessing technical performance and capacity of existing systems.
  • Ability to recommend system improvements, expansion, modernization, or replacement.
  • Knowledge of security, recovery procedures, and technical specifications for integrated multi-service systems.
  • Experience evaluating technology trends and recommending solutions for short- and long-term business requirements.
Agile & SDLC Experience
  • Strong experience delivering solutions in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Experience with Agile sprint management.
  • Experience with bug tracking and testing lifecycle management using Azure DevOps.
  • Thorough understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience with structured methodologies for application design, development, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Experience designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, deploying, and troubleshooting applications.

  • Experience mapping Salesforce capabilities and best practices against business and technical requirements.
  • Experience with Salesforce AppExchange solutions.
  • Experience developing Internet-ready applications.
  • Knowledge of Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Information Management principles, policies, and practices.
  • Experience reviewing, analyzing, modifying, testing, and debugging product installation scripts.
  • Knowledge of integrated networking technologies, enterprise storage, SAN, server, and infrastructure technologies.
  • Knowledge of OPS standards, infrastructure policies, procedures, architecture management, and procurement processes.
  • Knowledge of PMBOK and project management methodologies.
  • Previous experience working with Government or Public Sector organizations.
Mandatory Additional Experience
Clariti experience is required/preferred as specified in the supplier requirements.
Knowledge Transfer Requirements
The selected consultant will be expected to:
  • Participate in ongoing knowledge transfer through regular meetings, touchpoints, and working sessions with ministry staff.
  • Ensure all design, development, configuration, and technical artefacts are documented and transferred to designated ministry repositories.
  • Provide complete and relevant documentation to support continuity and long-term maintenance.
