Solutions Engineer

Summary

The first Solutions Engineer at a startup bridges sales, product, and engineering to deliver live demos and proofs-of-concept using real customer data, ensuring enterprise deals close by validating technical fit and workflows.

About the Role

As the first Solutions Engineer, you'll be the technical backbone of enterprise sales — sitting at the intersection of sales, product, and engineering to help close complex deals. You'll work hands-on with customer data and environments, turning abstract capabilities into tangible proof that the product works in their real-world context.

What You'll Do

  • Own the technical side of major deals from first demo through to signed contract.

  • Deeply understand customer workflows to identify the use cases that best demonstrate value.

  • Join sales conversations as the credible technical voice on integrations, data, security, and architecture.

  • Build demos and proofs-of-concept using customers' actual data rather than idealized scenarios.

  • Feed deal insights back to the product team, distinguishing demo-only requests from quick builds or core product needs.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years in Solutions Engineering, Technical Customer Success, Technical Consulting, or a similar customer-facing technical role.

  • Proven track record delivering live demos and proofs-of-concept with real customer data in enterprise sales cycles.

  • Proficiency in JavaScript and Python, with solid experience working with APIs and integration architectures.

  • Familiarity with enterprise data security, privacy considerations, and ERP/CRM integration patterns.

  • Native-level German and strong communication skills — able to present confidently to senior stakeholders and stay composed under live demo pressure.

  • Commercial instincts: you can read a room, identify the real blocker, and help move deals forward.

  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced, unstructured early-stage environment where you'll help build the playbook, not just follow one.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: €90,000 – €200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.

Location

On-site in Munich, Germany. This is a fully in-person role.
