To create and provide quality products for Geissler’s Gourmet Kitchen Program. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, creating new and innovative recipes that meet all regulatory safety and food consumption standards. As well as improving customer appeal to aid in the success of the program. This position reports to the Store Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs duties in a safe and efficient manner.
- Setting regular cleaning standards for the kitchen and verifying that staff is maintaining sanitation levels.
- Develop and create detailed recipes on an ongoing basis.
- Test and create new recipes monthly.
- Calculate and determine the total cost of prepared gourmet items.
- Maintain quality control by ensuring that all ingredients are safe and meet regulatory standards.
- Maintain records/detailed notes so recipes can successfully be reproduced in large volumes while maintaining quality.
- Create clear and concise recipes that are easy to follow for both novice and experienced team members.
- Communicate with IT/Store Support in creating PLUs for new items.
- Knowledge of the shelf life of varies gourmet meat items and ingredients.
- Orders and maintains inventory to ensure freshness, product quality and turnover to maximize sales and minimize out-of-stock or overstocks.
- Stay in the know with local food trends to remain relevant and accessible to a diverse range of audiences.
- Coordinate with marketing on advertising campaigns for the Program.
- Greets customers and provides them with prompt and courteous service or assistance as needed.

- Takes products to refrigerated storage or shelf areas.
- Prices and displays product cases as directed by the Store Manager or Perishable Director.
- Rotates all the products in accordance with department policies.
- Checks refrigeration equipment regularly for proper temperatures and performance.
- Maintains a regular and effective housekeeping and sanitation program that meets all the standards established by the department and all applicable health regulations.
- Participates in training activities to increase personal skill levels, and to improve overall department processes and customer service.
- Meets the physical requirements to perform the job functions listed above.
- Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
