Source Code Assessment – Engagement Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Source Code Assessment – Engagement Manager based in United States.

This is a hands-on cybersecurity consulting role focused on managing sophisticated source code vulnerability assessment engagements from initial intake through final delivery. You will serve as the central link between application security practitioners, customers, account teams, and internal stakeholders. The role combines engagement leadership, technical application security expertise, executive communication, and delivery management. You will oversee scoping, staffing, customer communications, technical quality, data handling, and engagement budgets. Your technical judgment will be essential for reviewing findings, answering customer questions, and providing hands-on support when needed. This is an opportunity to help deliver AI-accelerated security assessments while improving the processes and playbooks that enable high-quality customer outcomes at scale.

Accountabilities:

  • Oversee source code assessment engagements from intake through delivery, ensuring that engagements are properly scoped, delivered on schedule, meet quality expectations, and adhere to established engagement standards and minimum requirements.
  • Lead engagement scoping and business development activities by gathering customer requirements, coordinating source code access, clarifying expectations, and maintaining clear communication with customers, account teams, and assigned application security practitioners.
  • Coordinate staffing for engagements by assigning application security engineers according to scope, availability, and expertise while monitoring team capacity and balancing workloads across concurrent projects.
  • Own the customer communication cadence throughout each engagement, including status updates, review meetings, executive briefings, and escalations, ensuring issues are managed effectively from initial intake through resolution.
  • Oversee secure source code access and data handling throughout the engagement lifecycle, including retention requirements, closure procedures, deletion timelines, and customer requests for early deletion.
  • Act as a subject-matter resource for customers and internal teams on the capabilities and delivery of AI-accelerated source code assessment services, while maintaining internal documentation and continuously improving delivery playbooks and processes.
  • Manage engagement retainer-hour budgets by tracking usage against approved scope, identifying potential overruns, and coordinating additional hours or scope uplifts when required.
  • Review and quality-control technical analysis and customer reports before delivery, while providing hands-on source code review and surge support when additional technical capacity is needed.
  • Requirements:

    • Bring 5+ years of hands-on practitioner experience in application security, secure code review, offensive security, or a closely related discipline, combined with some experience managing engagements or projects within cybersecurity consulting or security services delivery.
    • Demonstrate deep technical expertise in application security and secure code review, with the ability to assess technical findings, validate analysis and reporting, answer sophisticated customer questions, and contribute directly to source code reviews when required.
    • Have strong staffing, resource coordination, and delivery management skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and coordinate technical practitioners across multiple customer engagements.
    • Bring excellent client-facing communication skills and confidence working with executive stakeholders, account teams, technical practitioners, and, where applicable, legal counsel.
    • Demonstrate experience owning customer escalations end-to-end, from understanding the underlying issue through coordinating resolution and communicating outcomes effectively.
    • Be comfortable creating and maintaining technical documentation, contributing to process improvements, and collaborating closely with other Engagement Managers to continuously improve delivery practices.
    • Be a self-starter who can operate independently in a fast-moving environment while remaining highly collaborative, organized, and accountable for engagement outcomes.
    • Have the ability to translate complex application security findings into clear business impact and recommendations that resonate with non-technical and executive stakeholders.
    • Benefits:

      • Base salary range of $132,000–$160,000 USD, with the applicable range varying according to the candidate’s location within the United States.
      • Equity opportunities through Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
      • Flexible time off, paid company holidays, paid sick time, gender-neutral parental leave, and grandparent leave.
      • Medical, dental, and vision coverage, along with a 401(k) retirement plan with company matching.
      • Life and disability insurance, health and dependent care FSAs, and voluntary hospital, accident, and critical illness coverage.
      • Employee Assistance Program, prepaid legal services, nationwide pet insurance, cancer care support, and global business travel medical insurance.
      • Home office allowance and mobile phone reimbursement to support flexible working arrangements.
      • Wellness coaching, gym and wellness reimbursement, fertility coverage, and adoption and surrogacy reimbursement.
