Sourcing Manager
About This Role
Senior sourcing professional with significant experience. Develops and implements incremental cost savings / VAVE programs with our existing components/suppliers. Partners with internal clients and stakeholders to identify sourcing needs and develops strategies. Develops strong partnership with Sustaining Engineering team to develop long term roadmap on moderate and large size VAVE projects, delivering long range cost savings.
Owns and develops elements of commodity and strategic sourcing strategy associated with sustaining activities.
Develops and implements supply chain strategies and develops networks that address capacity issues, production location decisions, etc.
Evaluates and selects suppliers that meet the organization's standards of price, quality, timing, and reliability of the supply.
Establishes negotiation strategy for award contracts, specifying spending limits and qualified sources of supply.
Partners with internal clients and stakeholders to identify sourcing needs and develops sourcing strategies.
Directs analysis of suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing:
Develop and implement global sustaining sourcing strategies to support business objectives, ensuring cost optimization / productivity, quality, and risk mitigation.
Partner with Engineering to develop long term VAVE programs for our supply base and components.
Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic goals and compliance requirements.
Category Management:
Conduct market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
Conduct Make v. Buy evaluations to understand best value
Supplier Relationship Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers, fostering collaboration and innovation.
Lead supplier negotiations, including contracts, pricing, and performance metrics.
Escalate critical items and support discussion with critical vendors
Cost Savings and Value Creation:
Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing initiatives, process improvements, and supplier partnerships.
Drive initiatives to improve supply chain sustainability and resilience.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with key internal stakeholders, including product development, marketing, finance, and operations, to align sourcing strategies with business goals.
Lead cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation of sourcing initiatives.
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Utilize data analytics to monitor spend, supplier performance, and market conditions.
Prepare and present regular reports to senior leadership on sourcing performance and cost savings.
Publish dashboard on regular cadence to support operation discussion
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
10+ years of strategic sourcing experience, preferably in consumer retail sourced and electronics.
10+ years’ managing global supplier relationships and negotiating complex contracts.
Strong proficiency in both spoken and written English
OR
Master’s Degree
7+ years of strategic sourcing experience, preferably in consumer retail sourced and electronics.
7+ years’ managing global supplier relationships and negotiating complex contracts.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of signaling technologies, electronics, or safety systems is a strong plus.
The ideal candidate will have experience with both electronics and metals.
Expert to mastery knowledge obtained through advanced education, combined with experience
