Medi-Market is recruiting à Sourcing Manager

As a Sourcing Manager, you are responsible for defining and executing the sourcing and supplier strategy to build a competitive, profitable, and customer-oriented product offering. You lead commercial negotiations with suppliers and drive category performance through optimized cost structures, pricing, and promotional conditions. Acting as a key business partner to Category Management, you ensure strong alignment between supplier strategy, assortment, and overall business objectives

Key responsibilities

Sourcing & Supplier Strategy:

  • Define and implement sourcing strategies aligned with category and business objectives
  • Analyze supplier markets, trends, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities
  • Develop and secure a diversified and reliable supplier base (local & international)
  • Contribute to group-level supplier partnerships and strategic initiatives.

Commercial Negotiation & Supplier Management:

  • Lead annual negotiations and secure optimal commercial terms (pricing, margins, rebates, promotional investments, listing conditions)
  • Build and manage long-term relationships with key suppliers
  • Develop Joint Business Plans (JBPs) with strategic partners
  • Manage tender processes and contract negotiations
  • Support promotional planning and commercial activations.

Category Performance & Profitability:

  • Drive category performance by optimizing cost prices, margins, and commercial conditions
  • Contribute to the development of a competitive and differentiated product assortment
  • Support pricing strategies and benchmark against market competition
  • Monitor product performance (sell-in / sell-out) and recommend optimization actions.

KPI, Performance monitoring & reporting :

  • Track key sourcing and commercial KPIs (cost savings, margins, supplier performance, service levels)
  • Analyze financial and commercial performance to support decision-making
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to senior management.

Cross functional Collaboration:

  • Act as a key partner to Category Management to align sourcing with assortment and product strategy
  • Work closely with logistics, quality, finance, legal, and marketing teams
  • Ensure product availability and reliability of supply flows
  • Manage supplier-related risks (shortages, dependency, compliance)
  • Contribute to cross-functional optimization and transformation projects.

Technical

  • Strong expertise in commercial negotiation and international sourcing
  • Solid understanding of retail economics (margin, turnover, profitability)
  • Strong analytical skills (cost structures, supplier markets, performance analysis)
  • Experience in contract management and procurement processes
  • Proficiency in Excel and ERP system

Soft

  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Results-driven with a strong business and commercial mindset
  • Analytical and data-driven decision-making
  • Autonomous, proactive, and solution-oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills

Profile

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in buying, sourcing, procurement, or category-related roles, ideally within retail, FMCG, or the para-pharmaceutical / healthcare sector
  • Strong experience in supplier negotiations and in managing commercial agreements with local and international partners
  • Solid understanding of retail economics, including margin, turnover, pricing, profitability, and promotional performance
  • Proven ability to combine strategic thinking with a hands-on, business-oriented approach
  • Comfortable analyzing supplier markets, identifying opportunities, and translating insights into concrete sourcing decisions
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, international, and continuously evolving environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence key stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage priorities and deliver results under pressure
  • Fluent in French and English, both written and spoken
