We are looking for a Sourcing Manager to join our Global Direct Materials Sourcing team. The position has a global scope and is preferably based in Helsinki, Finland, although other UPM locations may also be considered.

What you will do

• Take ownership of defined packaging sourcing projects, from understanding demand and supply markets to negotiating terms, contracting and following through on implementation
• Work directly with suppliers to improve commercial terms, total cost, quality, supply reliability and responsible material choices; take on selected consumables responsibilities alongside the packaging focus
• Lead networks of mill representatives, business stakeholders, technical experts and regional sourcing colleagues. Bring people together around requirements, decisions and execution
• Work with experienced category colleagues to identify opportunities across businesses and geographies, develop suppliers and translate sourcing plans into measurable results
• Use spend, supplier and market data to prepare clear recommendations, manage risks and track outcomes

Who you are

• You have a relevant degree or equivalent practical experience, and some experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain, production or a related commercial role
• You are willing to take responsibility, make things happen and remain accountable for outcomes, not only analysis or coordination
• You enjoy the commercial front line: you prepare thoroughly, are ready to stand your ground in tough negotiations and advocate firmly for UPM’s interests while building constructive supplier relationships
• You can lead cross-functional networks through influence, listen to different needs and bring stakeholders together around a workable solution
• You are analytical, curious and comfortable working in English across countries
• Packaging or consumables experience is welcome, but your drive to learn matters more
