SOURCING NPD - FABRICATIONS

Key Responsibilities

• Lead sourcing activities for NPD projects involving fabricated and welded components.
  
• Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for sheet metal, steel fabrication, pipe bending, and chassis assemblies.
  
• Perform detailed product costing, should-cost analysis, and Zero-Based Costing (ZBC) to achieve cost reduction targets.
  
• Conduct commercial negotiations with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and delivery commitments.
  
• Collaborate with Design, R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing teams during product development and localization activities.
  
• Analyze engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications to support sourcing decisions.
  
• Drive supplier capability assessments, process audits, and capacity evaluations.
  
• Support prototype, pilot, and production build requirements by ensuring timely supplier readiness.
  
• Monitor supplier performance related to quality, cost, delivery, and development milestones.
  
• Identify value engineering and cost optimization opportunities across fabricated components.
  

Requirements

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of metal fabrication, steel fabrication, welding, and sheet metal manufacturing processes.
  
• Experience in sourcing chassis, tubular structures, pipe bending, and fabricated automotive components.
  
• Expertise in product costing, should costing, and Zero-Based Costing methodologies.
  
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
  
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.
  
• Understanding of automotive or EV manufacturing processes.
  
• Experience in supplier development, localization, and NPD sourcing activities.
  
• Proficiency in SAP/ERP systems and MS Excel.
