Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a talented and experienced Sous Chef for a prestigious wine farm in Stellenbosch.

The successful candidate will support the Head Chef in overseeing the daily kitchen operations, maintaining exceptional food quality and presentation, and ensuring the smooth running of the kitchen within a high-end hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head Chef with the daily management of kitchen operations.
  

• Oversee food preparation, cooking and presentation to ensure consistent quality.
  

• Supervise, motivate and support the kitchen team.
  

• Ensure menus and dishes are prepared to the required standards.
  

• Monitor stock levels, ordering and kitchen inventory.
  

• Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
  

• Assist with menu planning, recipe development and seasonal specials.
  

• Manage kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef.
  

• Ensure efficient service delivery during busy periods.
  

• Minimise food wastage and maintain effective cost control.
  

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Sous Chef or in a senior kitchen position.
  

• Experience within a luxury hotel, restaurant or wine estate environment would be advantageous.
  

• Strong culinary skills and knowledge of modern food trends.
  

• Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  

• Good understanding of kitchen cost control, stock management and food safety.
  

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  

• Passion for food, creativity and attention to detail.
  

• Professional attitude and a hands-on approach.
