Job Summary
Join our vibrant kitchen team as a South Indian Specialty Chef to prepare authentic vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, ensuring traditional flavors and high-quality presentation in a fast-paced environment.
- Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
- Location: Jurong East, Singapore
- Salary: $3,500 – $5,000 / month (Based on experience) + staff meals.
- Working Hours: 6 day work week, Early Morning (including weekends and public holidays)
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook South Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, including tiffins (idli, dosa varieties), sambar, chutneys, non-veg curries, and traditional biryanis, ensuring authentic taste and presentation
- Follow traditional spice profiles and authentic flavor guidelines to execute menu items accurately
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards in compliance with SFA regulations
- Monitor kitchen inventory and manage meat and vegetable preparation to minimize wastage and support raw material ordering
- Oversee the South Indian hot kitchen and tiffin stations to ensure efficient service during peak hours
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Minimum 4–7years of professional experience specializing in South Indian cuisine
- Expertise in traditional spice blending, meat/seafood handling, tawa cooking, and large-batch preparation
- Valid Food Safety Course Level 1 certificate (highly preferred)
- Demonstrated punctuality, organization, and ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
