SPD Technician II - Full-time/Evenings

Summary

SPD Technician II responsible for cleaning, inspecting, assembling, disinfecting, and sterilizing medical instruments and endoscopes, and entering data into an instrument tracking system at a children's hospital.

Job Summary:

This position is accountable for cleaning, inspecting, assembly, high-level disinfection, and/or sterilization of all instrumentation, and/or medical devices, and flexible endoscopes for the hospital. Responsible for accurately entering data into an instrument tracking system. Follows departmental policies, processes, and regulatory requirements. May assume lead role.

Qualifications:


Education

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D. (required)


Licenses and Certifications

  • CRCST - Certified Registered Central Service Technician - HSPA - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (required) Or
  • CBSPDT - Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certified Board of Sterile Processing and Distribution (required) Or
  • CSPDT - Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - CBSPD - Certification Board for Sterile Processing & Distribution (required) And


Work Experience

  • Minimum two (2) years Sterile processing experience. (preferred)


Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and knowledge of instrumentation and medical devices.
  • Computer Skills Demonstrates proficiency in computer skills.
