Speakeasy Host
Position Overview:
The Speakeasy Host is the first point of contact for our guests. For this role, you should have solid organizational and people skills to make sure our guests have a positive experience. The Speakeasy Host position plays a critical role in the Museum’s delivery of a world-class guest experience by presenting a thematically appropriate presence. The Speakeasy Host engages and interacts with Museum guests to elevate the overall experience and accentuate the history of Prohibition. The Speakeasy Hosts report to the Food & Beverage Managers.
Major Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests to the speakeasy, escort guests to assigned dining or bar area, and provide accurate wait times and monitor waiting lists.
- Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff and management to ensure efficient guest flow and service.
- Respond to guest inquiries, provide information about the speakeasy, and answer questions about the menu or services.
- Engages and interacts with speakeasy guests in accordance with venue guidelines and procedures, including checking of IDs, controlling access to Speakeasy, coordinating departures, etc.
- Protects Museum and its guest from hazards occurring in and around the Speakeasy and Distillery exhibit spaces.
- Establishes a visible Speakeasy Host presence to dissuade any potentially destructive or inappropriate behavior.
- Provides any needed assistance to guests, employees and visitors in accordance with established speakeasy procedures and guidelines.
- Play a key role in emergency situations such as administration of first aid, facility evacuations.
- Other duties as assigned.
