Specialist Engineer (Aviation)
Summary
Provide 24/7 technical support for IMACS systems (CCTV, access control, alarms) and IT infrastructure, troubleshoot hardware/software issues, and maintain servers/networks in a mission-critical environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide Level 2 technical support for IMACS systems, including CCTV, Access Control, Alarm Systems, and backend IT infrastructure (servers, storage, network).
- Support installation, testing, commissioning & configure network devices such as workstations, routers, and switches. Maintain system components in accordance with project and operational requirements
- Troubleshoot and diagnose basic hardware, software, and local area network (LAN) incidents and system faults, including root cause analysis and escalation to Level 3 or vendors when required.
- Respond efficiently to automated alerts and fault calls, performing initial troubleshooting and escalation within defined operational timelines.
- Support corrective, preventive, and request maintenance activities in line with ITSM processes and SLA commitments
- Perform server/VM administration health monitoring (production and DR environments) PTRG, Server disk space etc.
- Support implementation, migration, and system upgrades, including preparation of implementation plans, migration plans, and rollback procedures
- Support in conducting testing and commissioning activities, including FAT/SAT, and ensure defects are rectified prior to acceptance.
- Liaise with Project Managers, Maintenance Managers, and stakeholders to coordinate site activities, schedules, and issue resolution
- Participate in incident, problem, change management processes and change request.
- Ensure accurate documentation and audit compliance, including: Work instructions / SOPs, As-built documentation & Service reports and incident logs.
- Support high availability operations by ensuring systems meet uptime, resilience, and disaster recovery (DR) requirements
Skills & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering, IT, Computer/Network Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in IT systems support, maintenance, and operations, preferably in mission-critical or security systems environments.
- Hands-on experience with networking, servers, workstations, virtualized environments, CCTV, Access Control, Alarm Monitoring, and Physical Security Systems.
- Familiar with troubleshooting, system monitoring, maintenance activities, backup/recovery, DR support, and SLA-driven ITSM processes.
- CCNA certification is preferred; CCNP, ITIL, VMware, Microsoft Server, Fortinet, Cybersecurity, or relevant security system certifications will be advantageous.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, stakeholder management, and customer service skills.
- Able to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including weekends, public holidays, night shifts, standby duties, and emergency fault response where required.
