  • Identify accounting risks and control gaps, recommending practical improvements to strengthen financial governance and reporting.
  • Partner with Tax, Treasury, Commercial, Projects and broader business stakeholders to ensure accounting implications are understood and appropriately reflected.
  • Monitor changes to accounting standards and assess impacts on financial reporting, processes and disclosures.
  • Drive continuous improvement across financial accounting processes, systems, controls and reporting, including opportunities for standardisation and automation.
  • Build financial accounting capability across Finance through technical guidance, knowledge sharing and coaching.

  • Strong technical accounting expertise, with demonstrated knowledge and practical application of Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Proven experience across statutory financial reporting, external audit, financial close, balance sheet governance and complex accounting matters.
  • Experience researching complex accounting issues and preparing high-quality accounting papers, policies, reconciliations and financial statement disclosures.
  • Strong analytical capability and professional judgement, with the ability to interpret complex issues and communicate them clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to constructively challenge, influence outcomes and work effectively across multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to reporting and audit deadlines.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with experience strengthening financial processes, controls, systems and data integrity.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with enterprise financial systems.
