Job Description: The Specialist serves as a provincial resource by providing expertise in development, coordination and implementation of all mitigation, preparedness, response & recovery sectors of Health Emergency Management (HEM) for the SHA, ensuring emergency plans are developed, implemented, maintained & exercised in all SHA facilities to meet current standards. The Specialist advises on and ensures best practices for ongoing HEM related safety initiatives and is responsible for developing HEM planning tools and responses through collaboration with all levels of leadership within the SHA. The Specialist is a key expert on advising on best practices/standards for HEM policies & procedures, and contributing to exceptional communication activity, while liaising with all levels of government.

Experience
  • Experience developing and leading planning and programs in complex environment
  • 3 years experience developing & managing emergency management programs
Education
  • Degree or diploma in Emergency & Disaster Management, Incident Command Systems
Licenses
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license
Other Education and Training
  • Licensed, and in good standing, with regulatory body, if applicable
  • Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • EOC or equivalent combination of education and experience
