Specialist, Materials Library, Apparel

Summary

Manages a physical apparel materials library, curating and organizing fabrics for internal teams and stakeholders while supporting strategic initiatives like material consolidation.

Role & Responsibilities:

The Materials Library Specialist plays a critical role in the day-to-day operation and curation of the Apparel Materials Library. This role is responsible for ensuring materials are accurately received, organized, inventoried, and presented to support internal teams and visiting stakeholders.

In addition to hands-on library operations, the role will contribute to selected strategic initiatives led by the Materials Library team, including material portfolio elevation, platforming, and data readiness. This position is well-suited for someone who enjoys working with physical materials while also developing an understanding of broader materials strategy.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

Materials Library Operations & Curation

  • Receive, unpack, label, and organize incoming material submissions in accordance with library standards
  • Maintain the physical Materials Library to ensure materials are current, well-presented, and easy to navigate
  • Partner with the Materials Library team to curate seasonal and thematic material assortments for internal reviews and visitor engagements

Inventory and Data Management

  • Own inventory accuracy for physical materials, including tracking additions, removals, and status changes
  • Support alignment between physical materials and associated digital records (e.g., systems, trackers, or platforms)
  • Ensure materials are handled, stored, and archived appropriately

Strategic Support and Continuous Improvement

  • Support the Materials Library team in material consolidation and platforming initiatives by:
    • Preparing material sets for review and analysis
    • Supporting comparison, sorting, and organization activities
    • Assisting with documentation, trackers, and summaries
  • Contribute practical library management insights that support building a strong and effective library, helping to shape material strategies for long-term growth

Experience

  • 1 to 4 years of relevant experience in materials management, libraries, product support, or related roles
  • Experience in apparel, footwear, textiles, or product development environments is an advantage
  • Hands-on experience with inventory management and documentation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Product Management Systems
  • Comfortable working with data trackers and structured systems, experience with leveraging AI is a plus

Academic Qualifications

Minimum requirement: Bachelor’s degree

Relevant fields may include: Product Development, Supply Chain, Materials or Textiles

Language Proficiency:

  • Fluent in English
