This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Specialist, Procurement Process based in Canada.

This is an 18-month temporary opportunity focused on improving procurement processes across Canadian operations.
You will help shape, implement, maintain, and continuously improve procurement-to-pay processes that support consistent and efficient operations.
The role combines process management, data analysis, stakeholder engagement, and business improvement.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand challenges, define requirements, and develop practical solutions.
Your expertise will help strengthen decision-making, process consistency, data quality, and end-user adoption.
You will also serve as a subject matter expert, guiding stakeholders on procurement processes, practices, and improvement opportunities.
This is an ideal opportunity for a supply chain or procurement professional who enjoys analytical problem-solving and driving meaningful process change.

Accountabilities:

  • Improve procurement-to-pay processes: Support the design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of P2P processes across Canadian operations, applying process-based management methodologies.
  • Analyze processes and identify opportunities: Use data analysis, root-cause investigation, and other analytical techniques to identify inefficiencies, determine underlying issues, and implement solutions that improve process effectiveness, consistency, and efficiency.
  • Develop process documentation: Create and maintain process maps, workflows, documentation, and supporting resources that align with business objectives and enable effective end-user adoption.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration: Lead workshops and work with stakeholders across the organization to identify challenges, document requirements, validate process and solution designs, and ensure alignment between business objectives and expected outcomes.
  • Build stakeholder consensus: Navigate differing priorities across cross-functional teams, facilitate productive discussions, and build consensus around solutions that deliver mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Provide procurement expertise: Act as a subject matter expert and trusted resource on procurement-to-pay processes, practices, standards, and improvement initiatives.
  • Support data-driven decisions: Prepare reports, monitor key performance indicators and key behavior indicators, analyze process information, and communicate findings and recommendations to diverse internal audiences.
  • Requirements

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may also be considered.
    • Relevant experience: At least 5 years of experience across supply chain management, procurement, category management, strategic sourcing, and/or supply chain process improvement.
    • Procurement and process expertise: Strong understanding of procurement processes, with practical experience in process mapping, workflow development, process management, or continuous improvement methodologies.
    • Analytical capabilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to examine data, investigate root causes, identify improvement opportunities, and translate findings into actionable solutions.
    • Technology proficiency: High level of computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite and SAP software.
    • Process management tools: Experience using process mapping, workflow, analytical, or process management tools such as Signavio, Visio, Lean methodologies, or comparable solutions.
    • Communication and facilitation: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to facilitate workshops, engage diverse stakeholders, explain complex process information, and build consensus.
    • Organizational skills: Strong ability to manage multiple initiatives, coordinate stakeholders, maintain detailed documentation, and deliver time-sensitive process improvement activities.
    • Supply chain designation: SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) designation is an asset.
    • Industry experience: Previous procurement experience within an industrial or mining environment is considered an advantage.
    • Employment conditions: Successful candidates must complete a pre-employment substance test and hold a valid Class 5 driver’s license.
