Schedule & Work Environment:
Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No weekends or holidays. Onsite position
Location:
North Hospital Medical Office Building (MOB) – Carmel
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate efficient patient flow from point of entry to final destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner
Schedule and coordinate appointments with Radiology and the Pulmonary Function Lab
Obtain and verify patient demographic, insurance, and financial information to ensure accurate records and optimal reimbursement
Interview patients to collect appropriate medical information
Explain departmental and hospital policies, procedures, and charges
Enter and validate charges in appropriate systems and collect required payments
Answer incoming calls and direct patients and visitors appropriately
Utilize Cerner (or Epic) to manage scheduling, registration, and documentation

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to learn, understand, and retain medical coding concepts, including ICD-10 and CPT
Ability to interpret insurance information accurately
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in a healthcare or clinical setting
Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical practices
Experience with medical coding (ICD-10, CPT)
Familiarity with electronic health record systems (Cerner or Epic preferred)
