Specialist Security Advisor

Advises clients on securing large capital programmes, reviewing architecture and supply chains to mitigate cyber and physical risks using standards like ISO 27001.

We are actively recruiting for a Senior or Principal Consultant who has prior consulting experience or experience as the key security contact in large scale organisations and capital programmes. Individuals looking to apply should have demonstrable skills in areas including information security, supply chain security management and cyber security.
As a Programme Security Advisor you will be advising clients, architects, engineers, suppliers and project managers on the best approaches to manage security risk in capital programmes across a range of sectors including life sciences, defence, datacentre and infrastructure.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Engage with clients to identify and manage security risks throughout the different phases of capital programmes.
- Provide mitigation solutions against security threats
- Review and assure architecture, design and implementation to identify threats & risks.
- Offer clear, structured guidance and advice to strengthen security.
- Take part in design assurance sessions to identify, manage and mitigate security risks.
Essential Skills
- Knowledge and experience at Information security strategy and governance.
- Demonstrable knowledge and application of ISO 27001.
- Appreciation of Cyber Security standards, requirements and implementation.
- Experience in supply chain security assurance, governance and engagement.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to translate technical information into actionable business language for communication with key stakeholders
- Experience as a subject matter expert within major projects/programmes
- Security qualifications in your area of expertise.
- Must hold, have held or be eligible for UK National Security Clearance
Desirable Skills
- Previous consulting experience, and/or previous experience in managing security in major capital programmes
- Understanding of the RIBA plan of work and the delivery of security within the built environment
- Experience in one of Turner & Townsend’s key sectors
- Qualifications in related security fields e.g. BSc, MSc, CompTIA, CISSP, CISM, ISO19650-5
- Demonstrable knowledge and application of GovS 007, Cyber Essentials, Cyber Assessment Framework, Contracting Securely
