Specialist, Software Engineer Guidewire - India
Summary
Develops, configures, and supports Guidewire InsuranceNow solutions for policy administration, underwriting, and claims in a hybrid role at a Fortune 100 insurer.
We are looking for a hands-on individual contributor to help build Guidewire InsuranceNow capability within NIO as part of the broader Guidewire hiring plan. This role will support development, configuration, integrations, defect resolution, and platform support while partnering closely with business, QA, DevOps, and external partner teams.
Additional Role Details
Design, develop, configure, and support Guidewire InsuranceNow solutions across product configuration, business rules, integrations, and custom components.
Contribute to end-to-end development activities including technical design, coding, unit testing, debugging, deployment support, and production issue resolution.
Analyze defects, troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, and implement sustainable fixes in collaboration with cross-functional teams.

In this capacity, you’ll help deliver capabilities across core insurance functions such as policy administration, underwriting, rating, billing, claims, and related digital experiences. You’ll analyze, code, configure, test, debug, document, and maintain Guidewire components including product model configuration, business rules, workflows, integrations, and APIs that support policy lifecycle transactions, data exchange, and business operations.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Analyzes, designs, configures, develops, tests, debugs, documents, and deploys Guidewire solutions according to standards in an agile environment.
Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to help protect applications, integrations, and data from threats and vulnerabilities.
Uses DevSecOps practices, tooling, and techniques to support build, deployment, testing, and release activities.
Configures and enhances Guidewire workflows, rules, product model components, integrations, and supporting services.
Develops and supports integrations using APIs, messaging, batch processes, and data exchange patterns across Guidewire and adjacent platforms.
Troubleshoots defects, performance issues, and production support items and drives timely resolution with peers and partner teams.
Partners with product, QA, architecture teams to clarify requirements and deliver workable, scalable solutions.
Drives continuous improvement and learning through ongoing training, practice, and innovation.
Manages medium- to large-sized project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables proactively.
Collaborates effectively across India and global teams while adhering to company standards, security expectations, and engineering practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
Education:
Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or other related degree. Technology experience or non-traditional technology certificates can be substituted for an undergraduate degree.
Experience:
Six or more years of technology experience. Three or more years of experience working with Guidewire applications, configurations, or integrations is preferred.
