Specialist Staff Development Midwife

Joondalup Health Campus is seeking an experienced Specialist Staff Development Midwife to join us on a part-time basis.

About the Role

Principal responsibilities to include (but not limited to):

  • Contributes to and participates in the education of all clinical staff by being involved in departmental/hospital orientation, in-servicing and clinical competence programs.

  • Liaison with the Clinical Midwife Manager regarding education needs of their staff.

  • The Specialist Staff Development Midwife will also make a valuable contribution to the hospital Quality Improvement process.

About You

  • Demonstrated commitment to uphold and promote the Ramsay Way core values.

  • Relevant registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.

  • Demonstrated post registration and extensive experience in Midwifery Care.

  • Be proficient in all clinical skills relevant to the chosen field (Midwifery) and demonstrate competency in hospital specific competencies.

  • Demonstrated ability to educate staff in formal and informal settings.

  • Knowledge of work contracts and methods of assisting and facilitating learning.

  • High level interpersonal and (written and verbal) communication skills.

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required.

  • Demonstrated negotiation and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent time management skills.

  • Sound computer literacy in all Microsoft programs.

Desirable:

  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications.

  • Completion of preceptorship program or equivalent.

  • Manual Handling/Basic Life support/Medication assessor competence.

  • Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment.
