Bombardier Specialist, Tax (Sales)
What are your contributions to the team?
- Adhere to Bombardier General Work Rules
- Support the business on sales tax issues, questions and exemption certificates
- Participate in sales tax audits
- Support GST and VAT filings
- Provide support on questions about taxes on invoices and whether systems are working properly, and ensuring system controls in place
- Advise finance of how indirect taxes should be recorded in the financial statements
- Participate in the forecast tax risk for the indirect tax reserve accrual
- Support business on taxability of various transactions
- Participate in the preparation of R&D Credit Calculation
- Participate in migration to new system using OneSource Indirect tax engine
- Collaborate with the legal department to complete filings to maintain standings with authorities
- Possible involvement in preparing income tax provisions and proforma federal income tax returns of smaller entities
How to thrive in this role?
- You have a Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance or a closely related field;
- You have 5 - 7 years of experience with U.S. tax experience (income tax, sales/use tax, property tax, and excise tax)
- You have working knowledge of U.S. Federal, State, and Local tax laws, with an emphasis in sales tax
- You have business Acumen and interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, other business areas, and governmental agencies
- You have analytical skills necessary to identify issues, facts, laws, and tax consequences of various business transactions
- You have planning and organizational skills necessary to coordinate workload around multiple assignments
- You have computer skills necessary to operate word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, e-mail, tax, and internet-based applications
- You have initiative and project management skills
