Company…
The company provides a home and
community-based service to children, young people and adults through the NDIS.
They have two clinics, one based in Christies Beach and the second based
in Tea Tree Gully. They deliver a holistic service while ensuring a
child-centered, person-centered and family-focused approach is utilized. By
employing a multi-disciplinary approach, they provide support to families to
ensure a ‘team around the child/individual approach’ is used to achieve the
best outcomes possible. They are passionate about supporting the child or young

to ongoing demands for their services, they are now seeking a passionate and
kind Speech Pathologist to fulfil an exciting role to work across both a
paediatric and adult case load.
The
Position…
In this position, you will provide
evidence-based, client-centered Speech Pathology assessment and intervention
for children, young people and adults with disability. This role provides the
opportunity for full time, or part-time work in either the Southern or Northern
suburbs of Adelaide.
The successful candidate will:
- Provide assessment and
intervention to clients with communication difficulties to help them
achieve and maintain optimal independence and quality of life.
- Provide assessment and
intervention regarding feeding concerns.
- Educate parents and
other careers involved in the clients care in communicating effectively
with the child.
- Work with other
professionals to deliver effective therapeutic outcomes to reach
functional goals
- Develop augmentative
and alternative communication (AAC) systems tailored to individual
client’s needs.
- Develop swallowing
intervention and mealtime plans and train carers on effective mealtime
management support.
- Work within a
multi-disciplinary team including Occupational Therapists,
Physiotherapists, Social workers, and Support Coordinators to ensure a
‘wrap around’ approach is utilized.
- Complete NDIS reports.
- Organize your own
calendar.
The
Ideal Candidate…
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Bachelor of Speech
Pathology (or equivalent).
- Current Working with
Children Check and NDIS Worker Screen Check.
- Certified Practicing
Speech Pathology Australia membership.
- Knowledge of
functional communication and swallowing assessments, interventions and
outcome measures.
- NDIS experience and
understanding is preferable but not essential.
- A passion for
assisting clients to reach their full potential.
- A high level of
written and verbal communication skills.
- Current driver's
license and registered vehicle.
