Speech Therapist

JOB LOCATION – Wilkes-Barre General Hospital

JOB SHIFT – Full Time Days

POSITION PURPOSE

Provide patient care, consultative and educational speech therapy services. Collaborate with interdisciplinary health care team to improve patient outcomes. Evaluate, administer, and document speech therapy services provided as prescribed by the referring practitioner; establishes speech therapy plan of care and goals; re-assess patient’s progress at appropriate time frames; completes documentation supporting the need for speech therapy services.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

• Master’s degree in speech-language pathology or its equivalent from an accredited academic institution.

Experience/Specialized Skills/Aptitudes

• Preference for dealing directly with the therapeutic needs of handicapped individuals and for physical activity.
• Teach/instruct; clerical accuracy; accuracy of prescriptions and procedures; manual and finger dexterity and motor coordination; interpersonal skills; analytical and problems solving skills; treatment and discharge planning; safety conscious; effective communicator.

Licenses/Certificates:

• Licensed speech language pathologist in the State of Pennsylvania.
• BLS Required and must be completed prior to end of orientation period
