Spill Response Technician
Primary Responsibilities and Key Deliverables
- Respond promptly to spill incidents, ensuring containment and cleanup in accordance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Conduct initial assessments of spill sites to determine the extent and type of spill, and develop appropriate response strategies.
- Operate and maintain spill response equipment, including booms, skimmers, pumps, and absorbents.
- Coordinate with other team members and external agencies to manage spill response efforts effectively.
- Document spill incidents, response actions, and cleanup progress, maintaining accurate records for reporting and compliance purposes.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance of spill response equipment to ensure readiness.
- Participate in spill response drills and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and emergency procedures.
- Assist in the development and implementation of spill response plans and procedures.
- Ensure proper disposal of contaminated materials in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Provide support for other environmental and safety initiatives as needed.
