Sport Development Manager
Key Responsibilities
Sport Development & Programme Delivery
● Plan, coordinate, and deliver grassroots, youth, school, community, and club development programmes.
● Support the implementation of WFS's Annual Activity Calendar and Multi-Year Sports Plan (MYSP).
● Develop new participation initiatives to increase awareness and engagement in wrestling.
● Monitor programme participation, attendance, and outcomes, and prepare reports for evaluation.
● Work closely with coaches to ensure programmes are delivered safely, effectively, and in accordance with WFS standards.
Athlete & Coach Development
● Coordinate athlete registrations, development programmes, and national squad administrative matters.
● Support athlete pathway initiatives from grassroots to high-performance programmes.
● Assist in organising coach education, officiating courses, and technical workshops.
● Maintain athlete, coach, and official databases and records.
Events & Competition Management
● Coordinate the planning and delivery of local competitions, championships, festivals, and development events.
● Support logistics, scheduling, venue preparation, equipment, volunteers, and officials.
● Coordinate athlete registrations and event entries.
● Liaise with competition organisers and relevant stakeholders to ensure successful event delivery.
International Competition Administration
● Manage athlete registrations and United World Wrestling (UWW) licences.
● Coordinate entries for international competitions and monitor submission deadlines.
● Liaise with UWW, Sport Singapore, competition organisers, and other governing bodies.
● Ensure compliance with competition regulations and administrative requirements.
● Support travel planning and logistical arrangements for overseas competitions where required.
Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships
● Build and maintain positive relationships with schools, clubs, affiliates, community organisations, and other stakeholders.
● Support club development initiatives and affiliate engagement.
● Assist with partnership opportunities, sponsorship activations, fundraising initiatives, and grant-funded programmes.
● Prepare grant applications, programme reports, and supporting documentation where required.
Marketing & Communications
● Support the promotion of WFS programmes, competitions, and initiatives.
● Assist in creating marketing content for digital platforms, social media, and promotional materials.
● Coordinate participant communications and programme publicity.
Facility & Equipment Coordination
● Support the operational requirements of the National Training Centre and other programme venues.
● Coordinate equipment setup, inventory, maintenance, and storage.
● Ensure facilities are prepared and maintained for programme delivery.
General Administration
● Maintain accurate programme records, participant databases, and documentation.
● Prepare reports, statistics, and programme evaluations.
● Support organisational initiatives and undertake other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or Management Committee.
Requirements
The ideal candidate should possess:
● Diploma or Degree in Sport Management, Sports Science, Business, Event Management, Marketing, or a related discipline.
● Preferably 1–3 years of experience in sport development, programme management, events, community engagement, or sports administration.
● Strong organisational, planning, and project management skills.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to build relationships with athletes, coaches, clubs, schools, and community partners.
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital administration systems.
● Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
● Passion for sports development and making a positive impact through sport.
● Experience working within the sports sector, National Sports Associations, or non-profit organisations will be an advantage.
Working Hours
● 40 hours per week (excluding meal breaks).
● Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays when required for competitions, programmes, and official WFS activities.
● Occasional local and overseas travel may be required.
