Sportradar: Staff Software Engineer

Our Sports Media Team is seeking a passionate Staff Software Engineer who loves to solve problems, build cloud native solutions, and excels on cross functional teams of talented peers.

With more than 1,700 sports federations, media outlets, betting operators, and consumer platforms across 120 countries that rely on our know-how and technology to boost their business; we build platforms and products that collect, curate, distribute, analyze, and personalize sports data and content. We have exclusive data rights with top leagues like MLB, NBA, NHL, and NASCAR where we own the rights to data coming from the stadium (even player tracking and optical tracking data)

For other leagues/sports like NFL, NCAA Basketball, NCAA Football, Golf, and more, we build custom tooling used by our scouting network. We pride ourselves on delivering the fastest and most accurate live game data on the market, and the systems our team builds make that possible.

Through our Sports APIs, we empower developers from thousands of customers like Apple, Google, Amazon, Facebook, The Score, Bleacher Report, and many more, to create their own products powered by our data. With our Analytics Products and Broadcast Solutions, we empower storytellers from Fox Sports, Bally Sports, CBS Sports, NBC Sports, and more, to create storylines around the action and to create the broadcast seem by millions of fans on TV.

The engineers that form part of our team will design, build, test, and deploy cloud-native solutions used by our Enterprise Customers, supporting billions of calls per month with hundreds of millions of TV viewers.

Also, you will work on an empowered cross functional team with Product, Engineering, Design and DevOps to deliver on your team’s core mission.

Partnering with architecture and external development teams to design highly aligned services with clear separation of concerns, and participating in Pull/Merge Request reviews to ensure high quality are part of the role objectives.

You will advocate and optimize your team’s' applications for maximum speed, scale, security, and maintainability through best practices while mentoring and working closely with less experienced Engineers - if needed - to help them grow and deliver quality products.

As a trusted member of your team, fostering a strong culture of collaboration and best practices in the software development lifecycle are key.

Requisitos

You will need at least 7 years of in-depth experience in professional software development, with expertise in Software as a Service (SaaS), utilizing SQL, NoSQL, and In-memory stores at scale, and Agile development methodologies.

You must have a proven track record as a strong individual contributor — someone who leads by example through hands-on engineering, writes production-quality code, and raises the technical bar for those around them.

Beyond your immediate team, you will be expected to help shape and drive technical direction across the broader business unit, influencing architecture decisions, establishing best practices, and fostering engineering alignment across teams.

You must have led cross-functional development efforts in a Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) model, utilizing GitLab/GitHub and CI pipeline automation tools with a demonstrated high-level understanding and application of modern software design principles in the implementation of RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and GraphQL services.

Advanced English level is required to collaborate effectively with US teams in meetings and pair programming sessions.
