Job Description:

The Volunteer – Football In-Game Analytics Support position is designed to provide an opportunity to observe, shadow, and assist the LSU Football staff in the area of game-day strategy and situational football analytics.

Working under the direction of Coach Kiffin and designated football staff members, the Sports Analyst will assist with the observation and evaluation of in-game situations and provide analytical information that may help inform game-management discussions and decision-making.

  • Observe and evaluate game situations from an analytics and game-management perspective.
  • Assist designated staff with real-time review of situational football information during games.
  • Provide analytical observations regarding situations such as:
    o Fourth-down decision-making
    o Two-point conversion opportunities
    o Clock and timeout management
    o End-of-half and end-of-game situations
    o Field-position considerations
    o Score/time/possession scenarios
    o Other situational football circumstances
  • Monitor predetermined analytical information and game-management metrics.
  • Communicate relevant observations and information to the designated LSU Football staff member during games.
  • Shadow Coach Kiffin and designated staff members to gain an understanding of LSU's approach to game management and situational football.
  • Participate in appropriate pregame preparation related to situational football and game-management scenarios.
  • Observe postgame evaluation of game-management decisions when requested.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding LSU Football strategy, personnel, game plans, analytics, and other proprietary program information.
  • Follow all LSU, SEC, NCAA, institutional, sideline, credentialing, and game-day policies applicable to the volunteer role.
