SQL Database Administrator – Bilingual
Location: Medellín, Colombia
Experience: 4–5 years

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled SQL Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and support mission-critical database environments. This role is ideal for someone with strong hands-on experience in SQL Server administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and production support. The ideal candidate is bilingual (English and Spanish), detail-oriented, and comfortable working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, maintain, and monitor SQL Server databases across development, test, and production environments
  • Ensure database availability, reliability, security, and performance
  • Perform backup, recovery, disaster recovery planning, and database maintenance activities
  • Troubleshoot database issues including performance bottlenecks, locking, blocking, and query optimization
  • Implement database security, user access controls, and compliance best practices
  • Support database migrations, upgrades, and patching activities
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and engineering teams to support business-critical systems
  • Create and maintain documentation for database architecture, processes, and operational procedures


Requirements

  • 4–5 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Database Administrator
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server administration
  • Experience with performance tuning, indexing, query optimization, and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of backup/recovery strategies, high availability, and disaster recovery concepts
  • Familiarity with database monitoring and maintenance tools
  • Experience with SQL scripting, stored procedures, and database security practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Language Requirement

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and verbal)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting enterprise or large-scale production environments
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS is a plus
  • Experience working with distributed or global teams
