SQL DBA

Salary: 3 month contract, potential for extension

Hybrid role requiring individual to fly to and from Dunedin - Relocation is preferred

About the role:
Are you a dynamic SQL professional with a knack for business analysis and a passion for transforming complex systems? We are seeking a talented DBA with strong analytical and personable skills to lead a critical uplift project. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on our organisation's core infrastructure, bringing antiquated SQL servers back into compliance and ensuring robust security.

You will be responsible for independently navigating a challenging environment, communicating effectively with stakeholders, and driving the successful upgrade of database systems. This initial 3-month engagement has a strong potential to extend and evolve, offering a pathway to shape future strategies around server consolidation, database architecture, and more.

We are looking for a proactive, independent individual with solid SQL and strong business analysis skills, who thrives in complex environments and possesses excellent interpersonal abilities.

Skills and Experience:

• Solid SQL skills for complex system navigation and upgrades
• Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve system issues
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive projects
• Excellent communication and personable skills for stakeholder engagement
• Experience with antiquated operating systems and in-place production upgrades
• Desirable: Business Analyst (BA) skills to gather requirements and bridge technical / business needs
