About the Role
We are looking for an experienced IT SQL Developer to join our Data Analytics team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and supporting our Operational Data Store (ODS) and other data platforms to ensure reliable, efficient, and high-quality data delivery for downstream applications.
You will work closely with Data Engineers, ETL Developers, and other technical teams to build and maintain robust data pipelines, optimize database performance, and ensure data integrity across our platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, tables, and indexes.
Build and support reliable data pipelines in collaboration with Data Engineers and ETL Developers.
Extract and ingest data from production databases and third-party systems.
Monitor data workflows, identify performance bottlenecks, and troubleshoot database issues.
Develop data validation routines to ensure data accuracy, integrity, and quality.
Diagnose and resolve defects across the Operational Data Store (ODS) and other data platforms.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, data dictionaries, and operational procedures.
Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
Ensure database security, confidentiality, and compliance with data governance standards.
Recommend improvements to database performance, processes, and data platform operations.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field.
At least 5–10+ years of professional experience in SQL Development.
Expert-level SQL skills, including the ability to develop and evaluate complex SQL statements and stored procedures.
Strong experience in database development, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning.
Proficiency in Python, Scala, or similar programming languages for scripting and data manipulation.
Good understanding of ETL processes, data integration, and data pipeline workflows.
Experience working with large databases, data platforms, or data warehouse environments.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
Experience working with Operational Data Stores (ODS).
Knowledge of data governance, data validation, and data quality management.
Experience with enterprise data platforms and production database environments.
Familiarity with database architecture and technical documentation.
