About the Role

We are seeking a SQL Developer with at least two years of relevant experience to develop, enhance and support enterprise applications. You will translate functional requirements into reliable software, optimise SQL performance and support testing, deployment and production issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse functional and technical requirements and translate them into application designs and program specifications.
• Develop and maintain SQL code using Sybase, following coding standards and best practices.
• Investigate and optimise SQL and application performance.
• Prepare unit tests, execute testing and document results.
• Support integration testing, system testing, UAT and implementation activities.
• Investigate defects and production issues, implement fixes and validate results.
• Maintain configuration controls, change records and technical documentation.
• Ensure code complies with application security guidelines.
• Work with Business Analysts to clarify requirements and refine functional specifications.
• Collaborate with the Team Lead to ensure solutions meet architecture, design and system requirements.
• Participate in peer reviews and contribute to delivery quality.
• Communicate effectively with technical teams, business stakeholders and clients.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least two years of relevant development experience.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with Sybase.
• Experience analysing requirements, developing software and supporting testing and implementation.
• Strong SQL troubleshooting and performance-optimisation skills.
• Understanding of coding standards, configuration management and secure development practices.
• Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to take ownership of tasks, manage deadlines and resolve issues with minimal supervision.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Added Advantage

• Experience with SAP Fiori / UI5.
• Full-stack, frontend or backend application development experience.
• Knowledge of application security.
