SQL SSIS Senior Dev / BAU Manager
Job Summary (List Format):
- Lead and coordinate business-as-usual (BAU) support activities for data integration and reporting platforms.
- Troubleshoot, investigate, and resolve complex incidents involving SQL Server 2019, SSIS 2019, and related data processes.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent fixes, avoiding temporary workarounds.
- Manage support queues, defects, incidents, and enhancement requests using JIRA.
- Maintain clear technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles on Confluence.
- Collaborate with separate Production support teams for issue diagnosis, release coordination, and service restoration.
- Communicate status, impact, and resolution options clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Design, develop, maintain, and optimise SQL Server 2019 database components, including T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, and SQL Agent jobs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data quality, reconciliation, performance, and integrity issues.
- Tune queries and stored procedures for optimal performance and reliability.
- Support controlled deployments and fixes across DEV, UAT, and PROD environments.
- Design, build, enhance, and troubleshoot SSIS 2019 ETL packages and workflows.
- Support data ingestion from various structured sources (CSV, Excel, SQL Server, etc.).
- Develop and maintain package scripting, transformations, connection managers, and error handling logic.
- Diagnose and resolve ETL failures, data load errors, performance bottlenecks, and environment-specific issues.
- Improve and automate existing ETL processes for greater reliability and monitoring.
- Operate efficiently within distributed environments and a support model involving external Production teams.
- Ensure thorough documentation and traceability of defects, fixes, releases, and operational processes.
- Proactively identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions to reduce recurring BAU issues.
