Company Overview

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing general ledger activities, month-end close, and financial reporting across multiple entities within a shared services environment. This role supports the preparation of stand-alone and consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and IFRS, and delivers timely and accurate financial information to both local management and the parent company. The position requires strong analytical capabilities, ownership of balance sheet integrity, and the ability to provide meaningful explanations of variances and reporting to support executive decision-making.

Responsibilities

General Ledger & Financial Close

  • Maintain the General Ledger (GL) by analyzing, reconciling, and recording journal entries in accordance with GAAP.
  • Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including trend analysis, GL account reconciliations, and journal entry preparation.
  • Maintain and administer the Chart of Accounts within Oracle ERP.
  • Close various GL books, review consolidations, and prepare and record elimination entries.
  • Review and validate month-end uploads submitted to the parent company.
  • Oversee subledger transactions and ensure the GL is maintained with minimal reconciling items.

Financial Reporting & Consolidations

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports for internal stakeholders and the parent company.
  • Support tax, financial, compliance, and audit reporting requirements.
  • Partner with the Controller on ad hoc financial analyses and reporting initiatives.
  • Actively participate in the consolidation process to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.
  • Maintain schedules for prepayments, accruals, loans, and deferred revenue across the shared services structure.

Audit, Compliance & Controls

  • Prepare complex balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support year-end external audits and provide required documentation.
  • Maintain accounting controls by adhering to and enforcing internal control procedures.
  • Conduct research and advise payroll and accounting personnel on accounting treatment for complex transactions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership

  • Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and other departments to ensure accurate GL activity and timely close completion.
  • Assist related entities with financial reporting, tax matters, and other accounting-related inquiries.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability in meeting deadlines and accomplishing deliverables.
  • Support the accounting team in maintaining efficient and effective operations.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger and financial reporting responsibilities.
  • 1–3 years of hands-on experience with Oracle ERP.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.

Preferred

  • 1–3 years of experience supervising or managing staff.
  • 1–3 years of experience working in a multi-entity or multi-organization environment.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.

The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated above. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.

USD $80,000.00 - USD $100,000.00 /Yr.
