Sr Advanced Mech Design Engr

As a Sr Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer here at Honeywell, you will play a critical role in advancing mechanical design projects with high complexity and innovation. You will apply your expertise to develop and optimize mechanical systems and components that meet rigorous performance and quality standards.

You will report directly to our leadership team, and you’ll work out of our corporate location on a hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the successful delivery of advanced mechanical design solutions that drive product excellence and customer satisfaction across multiple business units.

  • Serve as the technical lead for productivity initiatives within Building Automation business
  • Identify, develop, and execute a robust pipeline of engineering projects that generate business value through:
    • Product redesigns.
    • Manufacturing process improvements.
    • Bill of Materials (BOM) cost reductions.
    • Part number standardization.
    • Design optimization and value engineering.
  • Provide technical leadership for projects supporting Building Management Systems (BMS) and Fire product portfolios.
  • Act as the primary engineering focal point with global R&D teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Lead engineering activities from concept development through validation and production implementation.
  • Perform mechanical design, analysis, and simulation using advanced CAD and CAE tools.
  • Evaluate and improve product manufacturability, quality, reliability, and cost competitiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Support supplier and manufacturing teams in resolving technical issues and implementing design improvements.
  • Mentor engineers and provide indirect leadership across multidisciplinary project teams.

MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 8 to 10+ years of experience in mechanical product design and development.
  • Advanced English level (communication with global stakeholders).
  • Strong experience with PTC Creo for 3D modeling and product design.
  • Demonstrated experience with CAD and CAE tools, including design analysis and simulation.
  • Proven track record leading:
    • Cost reduction projects
    • Productivity initiatives
    • Product redesign programs
    • Manufacturing process improvements
  • Experience working closely with Product Management, R&D, and manufacturing organizations.
  • Strong technical leadership and project management skills.
