Sr Bid/ Commercial Manager

Job Description Summary

The Senior Bid/Commercial Manager for the Electrical Transmission Systems projects/ AC Intgrated Solutions comprising the full Electrification scope including but not limited to HV AC substations, BESS, Grid Automation,…will be responsible from Pre-Sale (Pursuits and Opportunities identification) through the tendering process leading the overall proposal development and providing high quality GE Grid Solutions proposals to our Customers in Canada and the United Sates. You will be managing the tendering associated risk review process, per Grid Solutions Deal Risk Management process with accountability for submitting proposals timely and per customer requirements.

Roles and Responsibilities

- Be responsible for the development of complete High Voltage AC Substations proposals which include HV substations Electrical, BESS, EMS, Protections and Controls engineered packages or full turnkey Solutions working in close cooperation with the product lines, Commercial Operations, sales, the execution team, sourcing, legal and other functions.

- Be Key Interface with internal and external stakeholders and customers.

- Ensure proper engagement with customer throughout the tendering phase, respond to customers queries and clarifications timely.

- Engage with other functions during tendering phase to develop scope, PMP, PQP, PEP, schedule, Risk management and should cost.

- Ensure the commercial and technical aspects of the proposal are complete and compliant with the Customer requirements, and present the most optimized and competitive solutions

- Work closely with the Region Sales teams as a key partner in the strategy development to create winning proposals and meeting or exceeding the region’s orders plan

- Support Market Level Pricing Indicators, target pricing and Pricing Strategy

- Support the AC Systems strategy in meeting segment orders operating plan, Sales, margin and hit rate

- Complete risk assessment, submission, deal clarification/negotiation & hand-over process to the Execution teams; ensure proper control of contract flow-down requirements

- Be responsible for the execution of the Commercial Risk Review Process including deal reviews and approvals, in compliance with Grid Solutions Policy 5.0

- Work closely with Commercial Operations, Legal and Lead contract Terms & Conditions negotiations with customers

- Opportunities pipeline governance, ensure opportunities forecasts is accurately reflected in sales force system.

- Support the proposal process improvement and proposal quality metrics

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline or Commercial from an accredited university or college

- 15 years of experience in similar role , commercial and project management role.

- Strong Knowledge of the Electrical Transmission and distributions systems and High Voltage Substations, required for Utilities, Data Centers, Industrial, Wind and Renewables Sector (onshore or offshore, Solar)

- Minimum 5 years of increasing leadership experience

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $128,400.00 and $213,900.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: sales incentive.
