Sr. Business Analyst
Location: Austin, Texas
Salary: $90,000 - $140,000 base + profit sharing
Hybrid: 3 days per week with 4-5 days per week as needed and preferred. Travel: One trip per quarter or twice per year to Texas, Florida, and Canada-based sites.

Our client is seeking an experienced, consultant-minded Senior Business Analyst with a strong Salesforce background to work lead business discovery and support the delivery of enterprise technology initiatives.
This individual will partner closely with business leaders, operational teams, developers, QA, and other stakeholders to understand business challenges and translate them into practical technology solutions. The role will have a significant focus on Salesforce-enabled processes across sales, customer service, field operations, contract-related workflows, and other business functions.
The Senior Business Analyst will be responsible for translating business objectives into well-structured Agile requirements and maintaining alignment between epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, testing, and release readiness. The environment includes Salesforce, MuleSoft, integration technologies, and emerging AI platforms.

Key Responsibilities- Stakeholder Discovery & Requirements Gathering: Lead interviews, workshops, process walkthroughs, and discovery sessions to understand business objectives, pain points, workflows, data requirements, business rules, and desired outcomes.
- Solution Analysis & Recommendations: Help stakeholders evaluate potential solutions, dependencies, tradeoffs, and impacts. Recommend practical improvements to business processes, Salesforce functionality, reporting, data quality, automation, and user experience.
- Agile Requirements Management: Translate strategic objectives into epics, features, user stories, tasks, and clearly defined acceptance criteria. Document dependencies, assumptions, priorities, and business rules to prepare work for development.
- Backlog Management & Prioritization: Maintain a well-organized backlog and ensure traceability from business objectives through requirements, development, testing, and release. Partner with product and technology stakeholders to prioritize work based on value, risk, dependencies, and available delivery capacity.
- Testing & Release Support: Partner with QA and business users to develop test scenarios, validate acceptance criteria, coordinate UAT, triage issues, and support business approval prior to production releases.
- Process & Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain current-state and future-state process maps, workflow diagrams, business requirements, data requirements, SOPs, and supporting technical documentation.
- User Enablement: Develop job aids, reference materials, FAQs, release communications, and other documentation to support adoption of new or enhanced technology solutions.
- Agile Delivery: Participate actively in backlog refinement, sprint planning, standups, sprint reviews, demonstrations, and retrospectives while helping teams eliminate ambiguity and maintain alignment.
- AI-Enabled Productivity: Leverage approved generative AI technologies to improve the efficiency and quality of requirements, user stories, test cases, documentation, and analysis while appropriately validating outputs.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between business users, leadership, developers, QA, IT teams, and other stakeholders to ensure business needs are translated into executable technology plans.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve Salesforce-enabled processes, requirements practices, documentation standards, delivery efficiency, and overall user experience.
- 5+ years of Business Analysis experience, including experience operating in a senior or lead capacity. Extensive experience writing user stories.
- Significant Salesforce Business Analyst experience, including gathering requirements and supporting the delivery of Salesforce enhancements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead stakeholder discovery, requirements gathering, solution analysis, and business-process improvement initiatives.
- Strong experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
- Hands-on understanding of the relationship between epics, features, user stories, tasks, acceptance criteria, sprint cycles, testing, and releases.
- Experience managing and refining Agile backlogs using Jira or comparable platforms.
- Strong experience eliciting, analyzing, documenting, validating, and prioritizing business and technical requirements.
- Demonstrated experience creating process flows, business rules, data requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Working knowledge of Salesforce architecture and functionality, including:
- Objects and data models

- Salesforce development and release lifecycle
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Field Service, or similar Salesforce environments.
- Exposure to Experience Cloud is beneficial.
- Familiarity with MuleSoft, APIs, enterprise integrations, and system-to-system data flows.
- Experience supporting AI, machine learning, automation, or emerging technology initiatives.
- Comfortable using generative AI platforms to accelerate requirements development, documentation, testing, and analysis.
- Experience with documentation and process-mapping platforms such as Confluence, Lucid chart, or comparable tools.
- Familiarity with Salesforce DevOps and deployment-management technologies such as Gearset or similar platforms.
- Experience supporting complex enterprise or operational business environments.
- Consultative Problem Solving: Able to investigate business challenges, identify the appropriate subject-matter experts and information sources, and develop practical recommendations.
- Stakeholder Facilitation: Comfortable leading discussions involving competing priorities and helping stakeholders evaluate options and reach informed decisions.
- Business & Technical Translation: Able to translate operational needs into clear, actionable technical requirements while explaining technology concepts in practical business terms.
- Active Listening: Skilled at identifying the underlying business problem rather than simply documenting an initial technology request.
