Sr. Data Analytics Manager, AI Enablement (Remote)

Symetra's AI Enablement team is a fast-growing team of builders inside our Data Analytics organization. Our goal is to accelerate AI adoption across the company in two ways: by building shared platforms, tooling, and patterns that let other teams effectively integrate AI into their workflows, and by shipping AI-powered applications for the most important use cases.

We work in small, cross-functional teams, build with the people who use what we make, and move fast. Our first product in production, docstream, is an AI-powered document-processing platform that currently supports several of Symetra's back-end operational processes. We plan to continue to iterate on docstream and to build out other products using the same modular architecture, integrating third-party products where it makes sense.

As a Sr. Data Analytics Manager, you'll lead one of our teams building AI products: software engineering, analytics engineering, or data science. The role is much like our Data Analytics Manager, with a higher bar for experience and judgment, so you'll take on our most complex and highest-stakes work. You'll also own one of our most important products as its project lead, driving scope, priorities, and timeline. You'll grow the people on your team and partner with senior stakeholders.

- Lead a team of software engineers, analytics engineers, or data scientists building AI products.

- Grow and develop the people on your team with regular coaching and feedback.

- Partner with senior stakeholders to turn their problems into AI and analytics solutions.

- Act as project lead on our most complex, highest-stakes product, owning its scope, priorities, and timeline.

- Stay hands-on enough to make sound technical calls and set a high bar.

- A seasoned data or analytics leader (typically 9+ years) who has managed a team and is ready for our most complex work.

- A track record of delivering complex analytics or AI work with a team, from scoping to production.

- Strong communication and partnership with senior stakeholders.

- Hands-on with AI yourself: fluent with AI coding agents and modern AI (LLMs, RAG, and the like).

- Comfortable setting technical direction and a high bar for a team.

- Leading a software, analytics, or data science team specifically.

- Leading a team through ambiguous, greenfield work.

- Shipping AI or ML products (LLMs, RAG, evaluations).

- Python services and APIs on AWS (ECS Fargate, S3).

- A Snowflake data warehouse and an AWS data platform we're building out for AI.

- LLMs (primarily Claude) via AWS Bedrock, with RAG and evaluation pipelines.

- Lightweight web and browser-extension interfaces (TypeScript and React).

- AI coding agents, specifically Claude Code, in our daily workflow.

- Remote (US). Full-time, exempt.

- Salary range: $160,000 to $220,000.

- Bonus: eligible for the Corporate Annual Bonus (CAB), target 15%.
