Sr. Database Developer
Summary
On-site senior database developer in Hyderabad who leads design and administration of MySQL and PostgreSQL databases on AWS RDS — schema design, SQL and stored-procedure optimization, replication, backup/recovery, and performance tuning — while also building BI dashboards with DAX-based metrics and mentoring development teams.
Must-Have Skills
A. Strong hands-on experience in database development and administration, including AWS RDS, performance optimization, replication, high availability, backup, and recovery.
B. Hands-on experience in database development and administration, including schema design, SQL development, query optimization, performance tuning, backup, recovery, and troubleshooting. C. Strong expertise in writing complex, efficient, and optimized SQL queries for relational databases. D. Strong experience developing and optimizing stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and other database objects.
E. Deep understanding of RDBMS fundamentals, database architecture, indexing, transactions, concurrency, data integrity, and query optimization.
F. Strong expertise in schema design, data modeling, normalization, ER diagrams, and dimensional modeling.
G. Experience in database performance tuning, troubleshooting, monitoring, and capacity planning. H. Experience with replication, backup, recovery, failover, and high-availability strategies. I. Hands-on experience developing interactive dashboards and reports, creating DAX-based metrics
and KPIs, analyzing data, and translating business requirements into BI solutions. J. Demonstrated experience in technical leadership, mentoring, code reviews, and guiding development teams.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of database solutions using MySQL and PostgreSQL. Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, indexes, and other database objects.
• Define and enforce database development standards, coding practices, naming conventions, and architectural patterns. Ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and reliable. • Design and review logical and physical data models, schemas, ER diagrams, normalized databases, and dimensional models such as star and snowflake schemas. Ensure data integrity, consistency, and quality.
• Administer, configure, monitor, and optimize MySQL on AWS RDS, including replication, high availability, backup, recovery, failover, capacity planning, and database scaling.
• Develop, administer, and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including schema design, indexing, query optimization, performance tuning, backup, recovery, monitoring, and troubleshooting. • Identify and resolve database performance issues such as slow queries, poor execution plans, indexing problems, locking, deadlocks, transaction issues, and resource bottlenecks. Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions.
• Implement database security and access controls and maintain backup, recovery, replication, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies. Support RPO/RTO requirements and participate in recovery and failover testing.
