Job Summary:
The Senior Electrical/Electronics Hardware Design Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end electrical hardware design and development of vehicle body electronics systems, including modules, sensors, and actuators for a new vehicle line. This role oversees components throughout the entire product lifecycle—from concept development and virtual design to testing, validation, manufacturing launch, and production support.
- Be responsible for the electrical hardware design of all body electronics modules, sensors, and actuators under your span of control. From concept design through virtual development, testing/sign-off and manufacturing launch for new vehicles.
- Work with Purchasing and Finance counterparts to develop technical specifications in support of the quoting and sourcing process.
- Work with Tier 1 suppliers, key OEM Group module owners, and OEM Group lead design & release engineers to release all appropriate body electronics components.
- Perform virtual and physical verification testing, including field testing.
- Participate in DFMEA, ISO 26262, Worst Case Circuit Analysis and any other engineering activities aimed at meeting the highest engineering standards for all the components under your responsibility.
- Ensure designs conform to safety standards and U.S. government regulations.
- Proactively stay attuned to consumer experience and propose system improvements accordingly.
- Manage supplier resources efficiently to deliver components and systems that meet cost, timing, and quality targets.
