Sr. Embedded Hardware Engineer
GalaxEye aims to shape the future of Satellite Image Acquisition, providing the most meaningful datasets, thus helping businesses and governments make data-driven decisions based on insights from satellite imagery. We will provide Satellite Imagery Datasets and Value-added services to Geospatial Analytics Companies and Infrastructure enterprises. At GalaxEye, we are working to build the best remote sensing satellites and, we are researching various aspects of remote sensing.
As a member of the Embedded Systems Team, you will be the backbone of every electrical and electronic system like Electrical Power Systems, Data Acquisition Boards, On-Board Computers etc.
Role & Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end system-level hardware architecture including design, manufacturing, assembly, integration, and testing of high-reliability electronics for airborne and space applications.
Design analog, digital, mixed-signal, and high-speed electronic circuits for embedded systems.
Own radiation and cost aware component selection, schematic design, design reviews, PCB bring-up, validation, and hardware debugging.
Perform Signal Integrity (SI) and Power Integrity (PI) analysis and simulations; apply good EMI/EMC design practices.
Design power architectures including DC-DC converters, LDOs, protection circuits, power sequencing, and detailed power budgeting.
Develop, review, and maintain schematics and PCB layouts for embedded hardware systems.
Define PCB stack-up, controlled impedance, placement, routing, grounding, shielding, and power-distribution requirements.
Implement and interface RFSoC/MPSoC, FPGAs, MCUs, and SoCs with external peripherals; integrate and validate interfaces such as SPI, UART, I²C, GPIO, and PCIe.
Experience with ADCs, DACs, DDR, Ethernet, PCIe, JESD204, LVDS, SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN
Lead board-level testing, characterization, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and failure resolution.
Coordinate with external partners and vendors for fabrication, assembly, and testing in compliance with aerospace standards (AS9100).
Work closely with FPGA, firmware, PCB layout, mechanical, RF, manufacturing, and test teams.
Perform comprehensive hardware testing and ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards.
Create and maintain detailed technical documentation and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Contribute to hardware architecture, design reviews, technical documentation, and mentoring of junior engineers.
Requirements
Desired Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics & Communication, Electrical Engineering, or a related scientific or engineering discipline.
4+ years of demonstrated experience in electronic hardware design, development, and testing.
Expertise in power supply design, including SMPS, DC-DC converters, LDOs, PMICs, and battery-operated systems with BMS.
Advanced hardware and firmware debugging skills for effective troubleshooting of embedded system boards.
Experience in designing mixed signal schematics and layouts for RF circuits.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
