Leads airport airside/ATM software projects from requirements to delivery, designing CNS/ATM systems and ensuring compliance with ICAO/FAA standards.
Sr Engineering Program Supervisor for Airport airside/ATM software/Hardware system is responsible for full Software/Hardware Project Deployment and Delivery including Requirements Management, Software Product Adaptation, software solution architecture, Feature Driven Development, Interface Development, Software customization and Implementation, Testing, & Commissioning including Change Management.. This role requires extensive experience in implementation of Communications, Navigation, Surveillance / Air Traffic Management / Ground Traffic Management (CNS/ ATM/GTM) projects for major airports globally
Essential Job Functions
- Establish professional relationships and communications with Customers, End Users (Airside engineering, ATNS, ATC and Airside Operators), consultants, Project Management, Sales, Proposal & Estimation, Services, R&D, HAB-Global engineer services (GES) etc.
- Provide day-to-day consultation, leadership and direction to project team comprising professional engineering staff.
- Provide technical leadership for solution architecture based on airports concept of operations, architecture and design, analysis & development leading to delivery of innovative solutions addressing customer business requirements.
- Good working knowledge on latest technologies, Object oriented and distributed architecture, high performance system deployment and mobility solutions.
- Good knowledge on regulatory requirements such as ICAO, IATA, FAA and regional regulatory requirements for airport aerodrome design and operations, ATM system design and operations. Applying regulatory knowledge on system solution design.
- Provide execution guidance and practical engineering support to the project team & assist in the creation of prototypes, presentations and supporting design collaterals.
- Provide leadership in liaising with customers to derive functional and non-functional requirements related to technical delivery of the project/s and develop high level requirement specifications and design documents.
- Serve as a leading technical expert on AGLCMS, ATC/ATM technology and promote creative & innovative approaches to solving the challenges.
- Acts as key technical interface to customers and is responsible to ensure that projects are executed within agreed schedule and budget to meet the customer requirements.
- Ensures that prerequisites (e.g. design inputs, tools, documentation, deliverables, schedule, budget, low cost engineering content) are in place prior to start work.
- Monitors and controls assigned work scope against the project plan, ensures effective change control and identifies risks / opportunities.
- Ensures that the engineered solution meets project requirements by monitoring and controlling assigned scope against the project plan.
- Responsible for meeting productivity / utilization targets, on time to request (OTTR) and 1st time right deliverables within the engineering team.
- Manages challenges related to readiness & manages customer expectations (requirements management and validation).
- Interface with Project Management on technical risks and delivery schedule.
- Responsible for technical Implementation, documentation review and approval.
- Planning and coordinating engineering activities and R&D activities.
- Evaluation of internal and external change requests and transfer those to the system/product requirements.
- Technical risk management for systems, components and processes.
- Focal point for technical clarification and coordination with the customer.
- Define requirements for subcontractors, coordinates and ensures success of deliverables.
